Passage 1: The Lost Puppy Mia was walking home from school when she heard a soft barking sound near the park. She looked behind a bush and saw a small brown puppy with a red collar. The puppy looked scared and hungry. Mia gently picked it up and checked the collar. There was a phone number on the tag. When Mia got home, she called the number with her mother’s help. A man answered and sounded very worried. He said the puppy’s name was Coco and that Coco had run away that morning. Later that evening, the man came to Mia’s house to pick up Coco. He thanked Mia for being kind and responsible. Mia felt proud that she had helped reunite Coco with his owner.
